Born in the Pacific, Exploring the Sea of Cortez
Originally from the legendary Cedros Island, Diego and Adriel spent their lives mastering the Pacific coast. After a decade as commercial divers and years in large-scale sportfishing operations, they know the Pacific side better than anyone.
Now, their mission has evolved: To explore the bountiful Sea of Cortez alongside their clients. As Loreto becomes a world-class destination for a different style of fishing, Diego and Adriel are applying their lifelong wisdom to these waters, blending traditional Pacific techniques with the specialized local knowledge of the Gulf.
Certified Safety & Continuous Learning
For the Baja Star team, the learning never stops. To ensure the highest safety standards in Mexico, both captains are fully certified and up-to-date with advanced maritime courses from Náutico BCS in La Paz—one of the country’s most prestigious maritime academies.
- Captain Diego Nuño (Since 2013): Expert in offshore mechanics and vessel maintenance, ensuring the Baja Star is a fortress on the water.
- Captain Adriel Quezada (Since 2017): A specialist in high-level service and deck management, focused on the guest experience.
